iii. Links from friendly web sites

Another good way to bring traffic to your web site is to find friendly web sites, resources web sites or web sites offering complimentary goods to your websites and request link or exchange links from their web sites. This is called link popularity and is known to boosts your Search engine ranking. So, if you happen to be doctor, you might find:

• a medical, general health portal or professionals, city directory to link to you

• firm manufacturing drugs may list you in references or resources section

• Your classmate may link to you from his personal and business web site.

Search such websites and contact the webmasters and request them politely for it.

iv. Be patient

Check your listings periodically, preferably weekly after submission and do not resubmit quickly, wait for some time to elapse. Usually, Directories and Search Engines declare in advance their usual review periods. For those who don't, it may be anything for weeks to months. It usually is 2 weeks to 6 weeks though. Never submit more than once a week for search engine and once in 2 weeks for directories. However, if your web page updates daily, you may submit daily to search engines.
